Fabric feature: Double Gauze

We have some really wonderful double gauze in stock and want to tell you some more about this fabric.

As you might expect given the name, the fabric is created with two loosely woven layers. When you look closely at double gauze, you can often see a pattern of the tacks that hold the layers together — this happens when the material is woven.

Our double gauzes are all 100% cotton, though they could be made from other fibers. Not every double gauze is the same — some are more coarse and others exceedingly smooth. Some are looser and some are denser.

Reversible organic cotton double gauze. Fairly smooth and dense.

It’s a good fabric for swaddling blankets and baby/kid items as well as garments for people of all ages. Garments that I’ve made from double gauze can be described the following ways:

Cozy, soft, comfortable, breathable, and fun! Our newest double gauze fabric is a gorgeous Nani Iro watercolor look from Japan; we’ve also got reversible organic double gauze, solid color, and floral (which we think is adorable in these toddler harem pants)

Come check it out!
