Hanky Subscription 2021

What is a handkerchief subscription, you ask?

We are releasing handkerchiefs quarterly; Subscribers will get theirs before the hankies hit the showroom floor at Make it Sew. Handkerchiefs are designed and printed by Devon Cohen/Kibblewoodcrafts— a collaboration that began in fall 2020 with the Mutual Aid Mice.  Click the button after this article to buy yours.

Paper cut, Mutual Aid Mice, fall 2020

The hankies continue with a February release. The fabric is cut and sewn by Make It Sew staff and then printed by Devon. The February hankies are on their way to Devon’s for printing in Pennsylvania and will be available soon.

Handkerchiefs are 100% cotton—this fabric starts off soft and we wonder if there’s a limit to how soft it will become.  Each release will be made on grey and one additional color choice. The February hankies are made in grey and pink.

The screenprinted image begins as a drawing and then cut-paper. Read more about the artist’s process here. We haven’t seen the final image, but know the theme is “work,” and the critters involved live in lodges.
