Raglan jacket/coat class
This is the last installment of our capsule wardrobe series for beginners. Students may choose to take one class or more, having the opportunity to create fun and unique pieces to assemble a self-sewn wardrobe.
Students will make a jacket or coat (same pattern, different lengths) from one of our favorite books, Lotta Jansdotter’s Everyday Style. In addition to practicing sewing from a pattern and operating a sewing machine, students will gain practice with raglan sleeves.
Extra credit for this class: Side seam pockets.
Designed for beginners, the classes provide opportunity for practicing good sewing technique and a little “extra credit,” too. Each session will span enough class time for most students to complete the garment. Some homework will be required and may be completed at home or during Make It Sew’s Thursday (5:30-8 pm) or Friday (11 am-2 pm) open sewing times.
If you are interested in this class but have never sewn before (or you don’t remember much), please take a Basics class or schedule a private lesson prior to the class start.
Cost is $60. Sign up for three (or four) sessions and save $20. Sign up for all five and save $45. Book, fabric, and additional required or optional materials are available at Make It Sew with a 10% discount. Materials list will be provided at time of registration.
