Tasseled scarf—Grownup Summer Camp
Tassels: they make a pretty scarf even prettier.
In the first session of Grownup summer camp, you can learn to make these tassels and attach them to a lightweight scarf for prime embellishment. We think you won’t want to stop at one scarf, and we have a feeling you might start tasselling everything.
What is Grownup summer camp? We started it last year at Make It Sew with the belief that kids shouldn’t be having all the crafty summer fun. Camp is in session on select Wednesdays this summer and a Make It Sew camp counselor will teach grownups a low-intensity stitching craft.
“Counselor” Mackenzie Brooks is a librarian, crafter, gardener, and relaxing lady. She’s a Make It Sew regular who is learning to embrace the wabi-sabi nature of her sewing projects.
Camp fees are $25 per session and include tassel materials (some campers may wish to purchase additional materials). Campers will need to bring a scarf—Make It Sew has some beautiful lightweight fabrics available (the example is rayon—there are great cottons, too) and can recommend ways to hem/finish so you are ready for class. Class material purchases receive a 10% discount.
