It’s In the Jeans

Last week, 12 amazing and determined people gathered to hone their garment sewing skills with a jeans making workshop. Teachers Caroline Cook and assistant Marcy Linton shared their talent and experience as the students built custom jeans, start to finish.

There were so many outstanding things about these four days, I don’t know where to start to share with y’all. Our first Camp It’s In My Jeans sold out! Students came from as near as Rockbridge County and as far as Tokyo. The teachers gave so much, answering all of the questions. The students showed up and worked hard — many students had a brand new pair of jeans to wear, and everyone else was getting really close.

We worked with a resident kitten: Astrid. We were visited by Ashley Radzisauskas who brought some beautiful belts to sell and took orders for more. We dined together, and many of the students shared a nearby house with great spaces for hanging out.

Caroline, as always, brought her fitting magic. If you are going to spend four days making jeans, you should make some well-fitting jeans, amiright? Students were able to make fit changes big and small, including learning to adapt for an asymmetrical body.

I’d say the proof is in the pudding. Check out those smiling faces, people beaming with confidence; the gorgeous jeans and, dare I say, great looking butts!

And we’re already talking about the next one.
